Baseball

Whew...what a season. This year was a rough year on the sweet Fearless Flyer. He absolutely loves sports. He just didn't think it was fair that his brothers got to play baseball and he didn't. Then, he realized that most of the fields that we practiced or played games on had a park nearby for him to scurry around.

It sure was a busy season with two different teams. I know, I know, it's only beginning. When all 3 of the boys are teenagers, we'll be running everywhere. It was fun though. There were some weeks we were out for games or practice every night except Sunday. Thank goodness the grandparents were around to help cheer the boys on when they had games scheduled at the same time.

It was The Reader's first season of baseball, or rather, t-ball. His favorite part of the game was hitting the ball and running. It was just a bit painful watching him run bases as he runs slower than he walks, but he looks good and has perfect form. The Man (daddy) told The Reader to slide into home at one game. He raced for home base, stopped dead on it and dropped down to slide home.

This was The Computer's second season of baseball. He stepped it up and was part of the Rookie league. This league is pitched by the coaches. If the kid doesn't hit it after 5 chances, they bring the dreaded tee out to hit off of. No kid ever wanted that to happen. Fortunately, The Computer figured it out pretty quickly. There was that one game though when the coach kept dropping the pitch right on the plate. After the 3rd pitch, The Computer asked his coach if he might be able to pitch it above his waist so he could hit it. Sweet kid...

It was fun. It was busy. It was cold and rainy for the most part. It's good to be back on a somewhat normal routine though.
