Quilt Blocks

Here's the thing when you make friends, you open yourself up to pain and hurt. I have a dear friend from church who is battling cancer. She went from being an active mom to her daughter and 2 young boys to barely being able to get out of bed. We keep flip flopping from having a diagnosis of 4-5 years to probably not making it a month. It's a roller coast of emotions. And I'm only her friend.

She is part of a small group Bible Study at our church and over the past year our boys have enjoyed playing with each other. One of the projects our small group decided to do was to make up a quilt for her. So I got out my sewing machine and got to work...The colors look much better in real life, of course.

A heart at peace gives life to the body. A simple reminder that living in the peace of God gives us life.
It's so easy sometimes to give up in the midst of trials. A reminder to stand firm in her faith throughout.

God's love never fails us. No matter how difficult things get, He is still there.

As Christians, we have an amazing hope. It's not just wishful thinking, but a true hope for the future. The doctors and science will do what they can, but it is the hope in God that sustains us.

These 4 squares will be added to the squares the other women made and then made into a quilt to keep our dear friend warm and provide some comfort.
